A quick guide to staying safe
Scam callers are getting smarter — pretending to be your bank, a delivery company, or even a government authority. Their goal? To pressure you into sharing something you should never give: your personal or financial details.
Here are the top tactics they use — and how to shut them down instantly.
1. “Your Account Is in Danger!”
They create panic:
“You have a suspicious transaction!”
“Your card is blocked!”
Why? So you act fast and reveal information.
What to do: Hang up. Call your bank on the official number.
2. Pretending to Be Your Bank
They sound professional and the caller ID may even look real.
Then they ask for:
- OTP
- PIN
- CVV
- Card details
Red flag: Your bank will never ask for these.
3. Refunds, Rewards & Too-Good-to-Be-True Offers
“Congratulations! You won a prize!”
“You qualify for a refund!”
To “process it,” they ask for card details.
Instant scam.
4. Fake Delivery Issues
“Your package can’t be delivered. Click this link.”
Don’t.
Real delivery companies don’t request banking details via phone.
5. Fake Authorities & Threats
Scammers may pose as police, telecom, or government officials and threaten penalties.
Remember: Real authorities never ask for payments or banking info on the phone.
If You Suspect a Scam Call
- Hang up
- Share nothing
- Report it to your bank
- Monitor your account
Stay alert. Stay safe.
Fraudsters rely on pressure and panic — don’t give them the chance.
